How it works

From Manuscript to Screen, Step by Step.

A clear, collaborative process with defined review points, so you always know what comes next.

  1. 1

    Step 1

    Introduce Your Story

Share your book title, genre, approximate length, a description of the story, and your creative goals.

  2. 2

    Step 2

    Manuscript Assessment

We review the information and, when appropriate, the manuscript or selected excerpts to understand the narrative, characters, production complexity, and potential visual approach.

  3. 3

    Step 3

    Character and World Development

We define the proposed visual direction for important characters, locations, environments, costumes, and atmosphere. Where included, reference images or concept frames are prepared for your review before proceeding.

  4. 4

    Step 4

    Scene Planning and Storyboards

The agreed narrative structure is developed into scenes and shots. Storyboards help you see how your story may be translated visually before those scenes are produced, with a review and feedback process where included in the agreement.

  5. 5

    Step 5

    Production Approval

We confirm the production scope, visual direction, deliverables, budget, timeline, revision terms, and applicable rights before full production begins.

  6. 6

    Step 6

    AI-Assisted Film Production

Approved scenes are developed using appropriate AI video generation, image generation, editing, narration, sound design, and other production methods, reviewed and assembled with human creative judgment.

  7. 7

    Step 7

    Editing and Quality Review

We review pacing, visual continuity, scene transitions, sound, and consistency with the agreed creative direction, and apply the revisions specified in the project agreement.

  8. 8

    Step 8

    Final Delivery

You receive the completed MP4 film and any additional assets in the agreement, such as shorter promotional clips, approved stills, posters, or other agreed materials.

Actual timelines and deliverables depend on each project's complexity and scope, and are confirmed in your written project agreement.

Our production approach

How We Bring Stories to the Screen.

01

Manuscript Assessment

We review the manuscript, genre, length, characters, themes, and the author's goals to determine a suitable production approach.

02

Creative Planning

We establish the visual direction, adaptation scope, intended audience, production format, and proposed deliverables.

03

Script and Story Development

Where included in the agreed project scope, we develop a script, scene breakdown, or other adaptation materials appropriate to the project.

04

Visual Development

We plan character appearances, environments, storyboards, and visual references to support continuity across scenes.

05

AI-Assisted Production and Editing

We use appropriate AI-assisted tools to generate or develop visual material, then assemble and refine scenes through editing, pacing, sound, voice, and other elements included in the project scope.

06

Review and Delivery

The author reviews the agreed review version, provides feedback within the specified revision allowance, and receives the final deliverables in the agreed format.

Northvale Studio combines creative direction, AI-assisted visual production, and post-production techniques to develop cinematic interpretations of written stories. Results depend on the manuscript, production scope, available tools, and technical limitations. AI-generated characters, voices, and visuals may not perfectly reproduce every detail of the source material.
